FAQ's

So how does this thing work?

Can it be installed on an existing sink?  Yes! Installation is easy on both new and existing sinks.

Will I need a special faucet fixture?  No, it can connect to and control any faucet.  For added convenience, we suggest a single lever faucet to simplify temperature control.

Can I install this product myself?  Your Pedalvalves product comes complete with everything needed for installation in sink base cabinets with any sink or faucet.  Step by step instructions are included in the Owners Manual.  If you do not want to install it yourself, expect to use 45 minutes of a plumber or handyman's time.

Won't my young children want to play with it all the time?  Any parent will love the hands-free set-up--especially those with young children! Just like the water dispenser on a refrigerator may be a thrill at first, the initial curiosity of stepping on the pedal goes away very quickly.  The valve can always be closed at the faucet if exploration continues past 30 seconds.

How does it save water?  When can I begin to see water savings?  When doing dishes, you step on and off the pedal instead of leaving the water running.  Every home uses water differently but generally speaking, a family of four will save an average of 7,500 gallons per year.  Certain Commercial applications have ability to pay for themselves in under 12 months.

Does my foot have to be stepping on the pedal continuously for the faucet to work?  No, there is a toe button that can latch the pedal in an open position for constant flow.  Also, you can easily switch between pedal and faucet controls.

What if my cabinet toe space depth is not enough for this product?  The recommeded depth is 3" but if your cabinet does not have that much depth an easy notch out of your toe kick is necessary.

How do the temperature controls work?  Typically, in a residential kitchen, people keep the faucet open and the temperature set to cold for general use and adjust it to a hot setting when doing dishes.  In a commercial seting, users set the faucet to the water temperature that suits the primary use of that sink and then adjust as needed.
